What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and scripts that help a site function, remember preferences, or understand how pages are used.
How GUILD uses cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Enable essential site functions, such as remembering your cookie choice, keeping online course members signed in, and security
- Understand aggregated traffic and page performance with Google Analytics 4
- Measure the effectiveness of our social media content and advertising with the Meta Pixel, unless you decline it
- Record which campaign or channel brought you to our site, so that it can be included with an enquiry you choose to submit
Technologies we use
The main technologies used on guildgemlab.com are:
- Essential and preference storage: your cookie choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under guild.cookie-consent.v1. Features such as online course sign-in also use local storage. Your language is set by the page address (for example /zh for Chinese), not by a cookie.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* to distinguish visitors and sessions and to produce aggregated usage statistics.
- Advertising measurement: the Meta Pixel may set the cookies _fbp and _fbc to measure visits, content views, contact clicks, and form submissions. The Meta Pixel is loaded only if you have not declined it in the cookie banner or Cookie settings.
- Campaign attribution: when you arrive through a link with campaign parameters (UTM parameters or fbclid) or from another website, we keep the campaign parameters, landing page, and referring website in your browser’s session storage under guild.attribution.v1. It is cleared when you close the browser tab and is sent to GUILD only together with a form you submit. It is not shared with Meta.
Managing cookies
You can decline the Meta Pixel by choosing Decline in the cookie banner. To change or withdraw your choice later, select Cookie settings at the bottom of any page; the banner will appear again so you can choose. If you decline, the Meta Pixel is not loaded and no Meta Pixel events are sent from our website.
Most browsers also allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. If you disable cookies, some features of the site may not function properly. You can also manage how Meta uses your information for ads at https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences/ .
Third-party technologies
Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel are provided by third parties that set their own cookies and process data under their own policies, including the Meta Privacy Policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/ .
